Yesterday after work, Amanda and I headed down to the Eaton Center (Mall) where Kevin Smith was doing a book signing. Before he woefully took to the books, he spent a while answering questions in true Kevin Smith style. Even though he must have been tired (hell, I saw him at 8am on Breakfast TV and he was in interviews the entire day) he was funny as hell.
Kevin is one of my favorite writer/directors. All of his movies make me fall on the floor with laughter (yes, even Jersey Girl), but they all exhibit something very important in films, life and humanity: heart. The guy is absolutely golden when it comes to just being a human being. You can tell it when he speaks. I’d love to just TALK to him for hours- about movies, about cocks, games, cheese, whatever… he’s just a really intriguing guy with a smart head, a large belly, and a heart of gold. On top of all that, he’s a great filmmaker and a comedic genius.
Anyway, sorry that the video is of the utmost crappy quality. I kept getting pushed by people and didn’t have time to grab the mic in the morning. But nonetheless, fuck it. Good day to you.
