Last week at the Afterdark film festival, the Saveslot crew and I ran into Uwe Boll after watching his new movie- DungeonSiege: In the Name of the King… something like that.
As I stated in my last Uwe Boll post, I think he’s a brilliant Indie Producer but has a lot of growing to do as a Director before he’ll be able to compete with mainstream Hollywood flicks. But this guy can get friggin’ Burt Reynolds, Matthew Lillard, Jasons Statham, Ron Pearlman, Leelee Sobieski, Ray Liotta and John Rhys Davies to be in his flicks… which says something about this Uwe Boll character’s savvy when it comes to aiming high! After hearing from the man himself, I’ve realized how he’s been slotted into a sort of “Ed Wood” niche, when in comparison to the many other indie filmmakers out there he’s not THAT bad. He’s no Robert Rodriguez, but at least he knows his place. I can’t wait to see Postal, and more films from this German lunatic! Go Boll!
