Oh my god. My first video rejection on Revver! But why? It must be a mistake! I was shocked when I received the email:
Your video “Max Payne on Drugs 2″ was rejected because our reviewers found it to be in violation of the Revver Member Agreement, which prohibits users from uploading hateful content.
Huh? Hateful? Youtube didn’t feel that way, so determine for yourself how much deep-seated hate is manifest in this video. Like seriously- HATE? Who’s screening these videos? I imagine they cry often and stay indoors a lot, because if our little sketch made them cry “hate!”, then who screened the Acceptable.tv shorts? Huh? One watch of the hilarious I Am Not A Racist, and I’m sure any qualms you’d have with Max Payne would seem kinda nice.
But I’m sure I’ll work it out with Revver- I really like them. Since the new revamp, the site looks great. I’d love to become a contributor… still, I’m an idiot, and sent them this email in return:
The email determined that the video was removed for “hate speech”, but
there is nothing offensive of that nature. If it is the reference to
“painkillers” and pills, it must be understood that this is a parody
of an actual video game called Painkiller, where you play a cop who
randomly finds pills everywhere he goes and eats them. He doesn’t know
what kinds of pills they are! How can he do that? He must be crazy.
Therefore, it’s funny, because police officers are supposed to be
serious, and this one is just going around eating pills! See?
Anyway, please let me know where the “hate” fits into all that. I
could edit in a puppy if that makes it better.Thank you for your diligence,
Dennis Logan
So hopefully Revver will forgive my cheekiness and see the humorous light. But seriously, I really kind of want to edit a puppy into it.
UPDATE: The video was accepted now, but I still haven’t gotten a reply as to what was “hateful” about the video. Oh well, problem solved.
