Remember that regiment I was preaching about yesterday? Well, I missed my two page mark today. But I had good reason- the filming we were doing tonight for our “Saveslot” project went SO well, and the set chemistry was flowing so nicely, that we ended up shooting farther than expected/planned. We ended up finishing at 10pm, and we shot for a whole 3 hours straight (which is very good for a weeknight shoot). Completed 3 whole pages from a 7 page script with about 3-5 takes per shot. Our shot ratio has been improving, and with everyone getting more comfortable with their “characters” and each other, the fluidity of our shoots has increased as well as the quality of jokes, acting and shots. Even audio! Wahoo!
It’s hard to put your head in the screenwriting mode when you’ve been working all day and filming all night… but since it was an especially good shoot with some really rewarding footage, I’m going to let myself off the hook. As long as I’m FILMING, I can skip a day of writing… because current projects have to take creative precedent. In any case, I really can’t wait until we start releasing these episodes. With one in the can and one halfway done, we’re probably realistically looking for an early spring release, so stay tuned. As for the regiment- tomorrow’s quote will be met! Bedtime!
